This research aimed to establish standard levels for offensive volleyball skills and identify their relationship to certain cognitive abilities among students in physical education and sports science colleges at universities in the Kurdistan Region. The researcher employed a descriptive survey methodology, deemed suitable for the nature and objectives of the research. The study population consisted of second-year students in physical education and sports science colleges at universities in the Kurdistan Region during the 2025–2026 academic year. The main sample comprised 186 students randomly selected from four universities. The study included three offensive skill tests: the overhead serve, the set from position 3 near the net, and the straight spike. It also included cognitive ability tests assessing attention span, sensory-motor perception, and motor reaction speed. The scientific validity, reliability, and objectivity of the tests were verified before the main experiment. After data collection and statistical analysis, standard scores and levels for offensive skills were established. The results demonstrated the feasibility of establishing standard levels for offensive skills among the sample group. They also revealed correlations between offensive skills and certain studied cognitive abilities, and showed that most participants fell within the average to good levels in most offensive skills. The researcher recommended adopting these established standards for evaluation and classification processes, emphasizing the importance of developing cognitive abilities due to their role in enhancing volleyball skills, and conducting similar studies with other age groups and sports communities.
