Manuscript Categories and Requirements
1. Original Research Articles
Original research manuscripts should include detailed studies of scientific research, describing methodology, experiments, and results. Manuscripts should include an abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and references. Manuscript submissions should not exceed 25 pages, including diagrams and pictures – in other words, from 25 pages to 30 pages is an accepted range. However, any manuscripts that exceed 30 pages, its writer will be charged 5000 IQD for each page.
2. Review Articles
Review articles summarize existing research and provide a critical analysis of a specific scientific topic relevant to the journal. These articles should not introduce new data but should offer an insightful discussion of existing knowledge. Review articles should not exceed 25 pages and will constitute no more than 20% of the content in each issue.
3. Short Communications
Short Communications present preliminary research results or novel findings that require rapid dissemination. These manuscripts should not exceed 12,500 words. If the word count exceeds this limit, an additional fee of 2,000 Iraqi Dinars will be charged for every 500 words over the limit.
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be structured in the following order:
1. Title: A concise and descriptive title (maximum 15 words) in English ، Arabic, and Kurdish.
2. Author Information: Full names of all authors, their institutional affiliations, and corresponding email addresses, in English ، Arabic, and Kurdish.
3. Abstract: A summary of the research in English ، Arabic, and Kurdish, not exceeding 250 words each, in English ، Arabic, and Kurdish.
4. Keywords: 4-5 keywords reflecting the core content, in English ، Arabic, and Kurdish.
5. Introduction: Present the background, outline the study's problem, research question or hypothesis, purpose, and significance.
6. Materials and Methods: Detailed experimental methods or theoretical approaches.
7. Results and Discussion: Interpretation and discussion of findings.
8. Acknowledgments: Recognize any funding sources or assistance.
9. Data Collection: Attach survey forms, schedules, and other methods of data collection when necessary.
10. References: Follow the journal’s reference style (Harvard documentation style) (see below).
Formatting Guidelines
• Font: For Kurdish, Persian, and Arabic manuscripts, use the Unicode keyboard with the NotoNashkh Arabic style. For English manuscripts, use Times New Roman font in 12 pt regular for the main text.
• Margins: Maintain 2.5 cm at the top, bottom, and left side, and 3 cm on the right side.
• Spacing: Single-spaced throughout with 11 pt spacing between paragraphs and sections.
• Page Setup: A4 paper size (21 cm x 29.7 cm).
• Units: Use SI units throughout unless specified otherwise.
Manuscripts that do not conform to the required format may be returned for revision before review.
Reference Guidelines
References should follow these guidelines:
• Recency: At least 50% of references should be from the past 4 years.
• DOI: Include a DOI for each significant reference. Place the DOI at the end of the reference (e.g., doi.org/10.1016/j.measen.2022.100559).
• Books: Limit book references to 10% of total references.
• Citation: In-text citations should use square brackets, e.g., [1], [2]. The reference list should be ordered according to the appearance of references in the text.
• Minimum References: Each paper must include a minimum of 15 references and should not exceed 40 references.
Examples of Reference Formats:
• Journal Articles: [1] Rostam, K.J. and Haydar, S.S., 2022. Making the optimal decision for production by using the fuzzy linear programming method. Measurement: Sensors, 24, p.100559.
• Books: [2] Chishti, S., 2020. The AI book: the artificial intelligence handbook for investors, entrepreneurs and fintech visionaries. John Wiley & Sons.
• Conference Papers: [3] Adachi, S., Horio, T. and Suzuki, T., 2012, May. Intense vacuum-ultraviolet single-order harmonic pulse by a deep-ultraviolet driving laser. In 2012 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) (pp. 1-2). IEEE.
Tables and Figures
• Placement: Tables and figures should be placed in the text at appropriate locations when referenced. Ensure clarity and appropriate formatting.
• Titles and Captions: Use 12 pt bold for table titles and 12 pt regular for table content.
• Reference in Text: Tables and figures should be referred to in the text with appropriate citation, e.g., "Table 1 shows..." or "As seen in Figure 2...".
• Table Content: Ensure that the content of tables is clear and concise, and that all figures and tables are numbered sequentially.
Post-Submission Process
Review: The manuscript will be reviewed by two expert evaluators in the relevant field. The researcher will be informed of the evaluation results within two weeks.
Revisions: The researcher must implement all requested revisions and resubmit the corrected manuscript electronically to the journal within three days.
Third Evaluation: If one evaluator rejects the manuscript, it will be sent to a third evaluator for further assessment.
Rejection: If two evaluators reject the manuscript, it will not be eligible for publication.
Post-Acceptance Process
• Production Stage: The manuscript will be processed by the production team to prepare for publication as follows.
1. Once the paper is approved for publication, the journal obtains exclusive rights to the research. The researcher may not publish the research, in whole or in part, in any other journals, books, or publications without the journal's consent.
2. The papers published in the journal will be ranked according to the following criteria:
a) Papers will be ranked in the following order: Kurdish, Arabic, English, Persian.
b) Papers will be ranked according to the researcher's academic title: Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer.
c) Within the same academic title, papers will be ordered alphabetically by the first researcher's name.
• DOI Assignment: The article will be assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
• Final Proof: Authors will be contacted to approve the final proof of their manuscript before publication.
• Publication: The manuscript will be published in the upcoming issue, either in March, June, August, or December, or it will appear in the Early View section before issue allocation.
