Abstract

The geographical position of Kfri district during the Ottoman period was one of the most important circles connecting Mosul to Baghdad and Basra. However, the district is rich in natural resources. They have made Kfri an important position in the Ottoman period, which is clearly reflected in the documents of that state. Therefore, this research focuses on Kfri district in (1852-1900) in the documents of the Ottoman state and aims in the light of official documents: administrative issues of the district, the importance of natural resources (Kfri coal) for the Ottoman state and make the most important construction and renovation projects in the district within a specified period of time. What distinguishes this study from others is that it is a documentary study and all the themes of the study were conducted in the light of official and unpublished documents. Regarding the research methodology, historical scientific method (descriptive and analytical) will be used to present the information in the documents
