Abstract


The current researcher aims to develop an educational curriculum based on an information processing strategy for the track and field course, specifically the long jump, for first-year female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Muthanna University. The goal is to determine the curriculum's impact on developing the technical performance of the long jump.

To achieve this objective, the researchers employed an experimental design using a pre-test/post-test method with a control and experimental group.

The researchers defined their research population as 45 first-year female students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Muthanna University, divided into two sections (A and B). Section A, consisting of 22 students, was randomly selected to represent the research sample. This section was then divided into a control group and an experimental group, each with 11 students.

To test the hypotheses, the researchers applied the information processing curriculum to the experimental sample. The curriculum consisted of six learning units implemented over three weeks, with two units per week. The researchers then conducted post-tests on the sample. After obtaining the results, they used the SPSS 27.1 statistical package to analyze the data and present the findings.

Based on these results, the researchers concluded that the information processing curriculum significantly improved the technical performance of the female students in the long jump.
