Abstract

 

The naming of stones and jewels in poetry is a technical and multidimensional semantic issue. This study aims to present the types, purposes, and features of the stones and jewels that can appear in Kurdish poems of (Nali). Most of the classical Kurdish poets mentioned the names of stones and jewels in their poems. What is remarkable is that (Nali), as a gemologist, dealt with many types of jewels expertly and carefully, using them directly and indirectly in the appropriate places. The study followed analytical and statistical descriptive methods. The content of the research consists of two parts. The first part theoretically discusses the nature, types, and features of stones and jewels. The second part analyzes the types and meanings of stones and jewels mentioned in (Nali’s) poems. Finally, statistics on the quantity and quality of stones and jewels are presented. The results of the research are summarized in several points, and the sources used in the research are also mentioned.
