Abstract


Geographical location is considered to be one of the most important natural principles of the emergence and development of tourism in any region, Location according to latitudinal circles is responsible for determining the type of climate, Natural plants, wildlife and length of day and night, which affects the movement and type of tourism activities carried out in an area.

The geographical location of tourist areas in Sulaimanyah province affects the volume of demand. The closer the location of tourist demand to the tourist presentation area, the more attractive it will be and will affect the price of travel and duration of stay, in this regard, the hypothesis of this research is based on answering the question whether the geographical location of Sulaimanyah province has a role on tourism movement in the region, especially for these tourists from other provinces of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq are visiting the study area.

The results of the study showed that the closer the tourist attractions are to the residential areas of tourists and can be reached in the easiest way and using the most types of transportation, they attract the most tourists.

To analyze the impact of the geographical location of Sulaimanyah province as a tourist promotion area for tourists from other provinces of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, we relied on the analysis of the Grampon law, With the analysis of the number of tourists coming to the study area and their place of entry in a table and form during 2007 to 2022.
