Abstract

 

The research is entitled (Self - Nostalgia in Fazil Shawro's Poems). The choice of Shawro's collection of poems, as the research material, is because there are many reflections and shadows of this subject in the texts.

The poet has spent some 30 years away from home - ten years in Libya and twenty years in the Republic of Southern Ireland. The fragranceof this exile and being away from homeland is beautifully evoking the feelings of the readers of his poems.

The study is classified into two parts; it ends with conclusion and a list of the references.

The first part covers two topics: Topic 1: terms, definitions and concepts of nostalgia. Topic 2: self - nostalgia.

While the second part focuses on four themes: Theme 1: Nostalgia for childhood. Theme 2: Nostalgia for youth. 3: Nostalgia for faraway lovers. Theme 4: Nostalgia for birthplace.
