Abstract
Narrative studies are an inexhaustible resource, providing researchers with more ideas for new studies that are constantly being reproduced, Therefore, our research came to the novel (The Palm and the Neighbors) by the Iraqi novelist (Ghaib Ta’ma Farman) to show the extent to which the characters of that novel are similar or deviate from their meaning. According to what the characters say or move within the novel, meaning that the research follows the lexical meaning of the names of the characters participating in this novel and matches them with their active role in it. To clarify whether the character's name was a real sign of those characters, or if it was an indefinite name. We chose the polyphonic novel as the perfect space to study its characters; Because these characters adopt a main theme, they discuss and debate, and their diaries revolve around it. Each character expresses his point of view, according to his conviction, according to his culture, and according to his ideology, in a way that is similar to or departs from its significance in the novel.
