Abstract

This research addresses the apparent gap in contemporary Muslim societies between the lofty aims of the Quran and the social practices and inherited traditions that have overshadowed women's rights. The central issue revolves around how the late scholar Sheikh Abdul Karim al-Mudarris employed his interpretive methodology in his book "Mawahib al-Rahman" to dismantle these tribal customs and restore women's status as active human beings, balancing the authenticity of the text with the realities of the modern age.

The study derives its significance from highlighting the thought of the former Grand Mufti of Iraq, who combined the scholarly environment of Kurdistan with the realities of Baghdad society, thus giving his reformist proposals widespread acceptance and the capacity to address current family and social problems
