Kurdistan has produced numerous scholars, religious figures, and intellectuals throughout history, whose contributions are attested to by history itself. Their knowledge and tireless efforts to preserve science and religion, as well as their resistance to injustice and tyranny and their advocacy for truth, have left a lasting mark. Many have distinguished themselves in this field, each leaving a unique imprint across all aspects of life. They have left a clear mark through their religious, intellectual, historical, and scientific ideas and visions. Therefore, in this research, we have attempted to shed light on one of the most important Kurdish figures who had a long and distinguished career in science and knowledge, particularly in the intellectual and cultural spheres. Their efforts to reconcile authenticity with the preservation of the sound religious system, aiming to revive and return to Islamic life, begin with a return to correct Islamic concepts and the purification of minds and souls from any deviations. This is the foundation upon which all reformers, scholars, and religious figures in the Islamic world have based their Islamic work, despite their differing interpretations of the nature of these deviations and their prioritization of issues. They have pursued this through various means, including what is documented in their writings on theology and theology, and their discussions of the opinions of different religious sects. Regarding the "revival of religious thought," the intended meaning of this term is not the revival of religion itself, but rather the revival of thinking about religion. In other words, it means cleansing minds of the accumulated deviations and distortions concerning Islam, especially in the modern era, which has led to a fragmentation of thought regarding religious concepts such as existence, Islam, faith, creation, power, life, and the methodologies of the early Muslims throughout Islamic history, etc. This is particularly important given the prevalence of numerous phenomena in society today, such as atheism, denial of God's existence, and various issues surrounding faith, Islam, and the existence of God, etc.
Through this, scholars and religious figures made effective contributions and significant efforts in the upbringing, education, and reform of society by disseminating knowledge and sciences, serving as guiding lights for the nation and beacons of enlightenment. Our careful reading revealed prominent figures who had a profound impact on the production of valuable religious works, enabling them to attain a high social, religious, and spiritual standing in Kurdish society. One such figure was Allama Abdul Rahim Mawlawi (d. 1300 AH), one of the most important Sufi religious figures of his time, known for his piety and devotion. He held a lofty position among both the community and the scholars of Iraq, who sought his knowledge and broad intellect. His mastery of Kurdish, Persian, and even Arabic cultures contributed to this. Therefore, this research, titled "The Contributions of Kurdish Scholars to Documenting the History of Islamic Theology During the Islamic Eras (Allama Mawlawi, d. 1300 AH as a Model: A Study of the Book 'Al-Fadilah')," aims to shed light on the efforts and endeavors of Kurdish scholars. The Kurds throughout Islamic history documented the science of Islamic beliefs, then looked at his biography and his scientific status in his time, in addition to the great efforts he made in the book of virtue, which is the focus of our study. It is a poetic system on Islamic beliefs, based on the opinions and methods of the Salaf, such as the Mu'tazilites, the Ash'arites, and others. Due to the importance of the topic, as we are studying the opinions and ideas of Allama Mawlawi on beliefs, which many Muslims have begun to follow, and due to the importance of this spiritual poetic system, it has begun to be studied in mosques, associations, and schools. Therefore, our research has been divided into three axes, preceded by an introduction explaining the importance of the study and its goal, and a conclusion through which we arrive at the most important results, in addition to the most important sources and references that were considered the backbone of this study.
