Abstract

The best criterion and method for understanding religions, schools, philosophers, poets, mystics, etc. is to examine their thoughts and ideas in relation to categories such as man, society and history, and to understand their views on women. In the meantime, from the perspective of many of these schools and religions, women, due to their mental deficiency, are not capable of performing their duties or fulfilling their responsibilities in family and social life. On the other hand, there have been those who, despite the prevailing view of women's inferior status and position in science and society, have had a positive view of women and have considered them to be equal to men. One of these rare cases is the great Kurdish poet and mystic Seyyed Abdolrahim Tawehgozi, known as Rumi, who, by reading his poems, can clearly see traces of family emotions while honoring the position of women. To the extent that his expression of love and affection for his wife "Anbar Khatun" (especially in her absence) throughout his poetry has placed him at the level of the greatest masters of love and women. Therefore, the subject of this research is to examine and explain Rumi's view of women through the analysis and interpretation of his poems. Although it may not be possible to understand the essence of the poet's attitude towards women by simply analyzing and interpreting the content of Rumi's poems, it can be claimed that one of the best ways to understand the poet's attitude towards women and draw its general outlines, given the lack of sources in this field and some existing contradictions, is to examine his elegies and praises of his wife as an implicit lover and symbol of women in his poems.
