Abstract

The "Virtue" system by Sheikh Abdul Rahim Al-Malawi is a distinguished text in the field of theology, characterized by its keenness to clarify the fruits and benefits of beliefs, and to alert to the importance of seeking refuge in God to save humanity, and to establish the ownership meanings of humans to God, empowering them as a great cognitive, methodological, and educational approach, based on the sincerity of affiliation to God, which is an effective factor in preventing the mind from wandering, as it leads it to the context of pure servitude to God with the mind, heart, and hands.

Sheikh Abdul Rahim structured his system according to the Ash'ari division of the theology study, imprinting its content with the comprehensive integration between theology and its educational dimension. This dimension was evident in the introduction and the remaining two sections, characterized by cognitive preludes aimed at educating the generation on the knowledge of inference and its foundations, and emphasizing that no creed is acceptable to God unless it is based on evidence. Then, he elaborated on the significance of the two testimonies, naming them with a name that speaks of their fruit (a fruitful paradise of the two upbringings). The first stressed the necessity of educating the generation on the attainment of the knowledge of God and His attributes, while the second emphasized education through the knowledge of the greatest means (our Master Muhammad), as honor lies in knowing the status of the Prophet and embracing the fruit of compliance with it.

The system was abundant in its organization (the source, the legislated, the patient, the eyelid, the chamber, the paradise, the happiness, and...) with the educational dimension, also manifested in its sections (the introduction, the prefaces, the beliefs). It is a comprehensive system between knowledge, methodology, and their fruits in worldly success and prosperity in the Hereafter. The author revisited and consciously resumed the Ash'ari lesson of theology, surpassing it by reinstating care for education and familiarizing it with a scientific and methodological approach.
