Abstract

In the history of Kurdish literature, especially in classical Kurdish poetry, only a few Kurdish classical poets have reached as high a level as Mawlawi. Mawlawi was a bright star in the sky of classical Kurdish poetry. Why Mawlawi?  Because Mawlawi was distinguished and creative, because Mawlawi, as a poet who spoke a different dialect like the one he created, which is the central Kurdish dialect, was able to bring about his own creativity in the southern Kurdish dialect, that is, the Gorani/Hawrami dialect.

This dialect was the language of poetry of the greatest poets of that era who wrote poetry in this beautiful dialect and left us valuable works such as Besarani, Khana Qubadi, Ahmed Bey Kumasi, Mahjouri, Mastura Ardalan, and Mawlawi.

In addition to his works in Arabic and Persian, Mawlawi left us two important books in the Kurdish language, The Akida Mardiya and The Diwan. Mawlawi enriched the Kurdish language and literature with in this article, I will try to shed some light on the life of the poet and creator Mollah Abdul Rahim Al-Taygozi, and I will summarize my article with the following points his works:

Part One: A brief biography of Mollah Abd al-Rahim al-Taygozi, based on manuscripts and original documents.

Part Two: The status and elevation of Mollah Abdul Rahim Al-Taygozi in classical Kurdish poetry and his creativity in the art of writing poetic letters.

Part Three: A statistical overview of Mawlawi’s collection through writing and sending poetic letters to Kurdish poets and scholars (with numbers and names).

Part Four: The writing and exchange of letters between Mawlawi and the poet Ahmed Kumasi, according to an old manuscript in the Berlin National Library, and by presenting several different pages from the original manuscript kept in the Berlin Library.
