1 College of Islamic Sciences / Salahaddin University – Erbil
Sheikh Al-Mawlawi, may Allah have mercy on him, is one of the prominent figures in rational and traditional sciences. His extensive writings and compositions in Kurdish, Arabic, and Persian languages stand as the best testimony to our cause. His mastery in theology, philosophical discussions, and intricate details of this field is undeniable. This research undertakes the noble task of delving into his revered council, drawing from the wellsprings of his knowledge, particularly focusing on the most crucial matter: the acquisition of faith and its methodologies. Faith is a combination of inheritance and personal endeavor, with every aspect ultimately attributed to the grace of Allah Almighty. The Sheikh categorizes the methods of acquiring faith into three: revelation to the elite, guidance from scholars, and imitation by the common folk and children. It is imperative to thoroughly investigate these methods, elucidating each pathway's nuances and intricacies. The Sheikh clarifies and sheds light on these methods comprehensively, leaving no ambiguity for both the learned and the laymen.
The necessity arose to divide the effort into two sections: firstly, regarding the nature of faith between inheritance and personal endeavor, discussing apparent contradictions and reconciliations. Then, elucidating the methods and clarifications thereof by Sheikh Al-Mawlawi.
May Allah's pleasure be sought first and foremost, with the hope that this work serves as a cornerstone in the edifice of knowledge in this esteemed realm. And Allah is the Helper.
