Abstract

Social identity is a multifaceted concept that can be examined from various perspectives such as social psychology, sociology, culture, politics, and philosophy. Each approach highlights specific aspects of social identity and identity, showing that social identity is not only an individual characteristic but also a product of social interactions, power structures, and cultural contexts. Each discourse sees the issue of identity within its own context. We will only emphasize here how the issue of identity is reflected in the sources of history. In this context, the main question has become the basis of the available research: How has Kurdish social identity been reflected in memories? For example, the memoirs of Shilan Hassanpour, Kubra Azim, Hamadi Mawludi and Ali Karimi in Mahabad, East Kurdistan have been analyzed and read. Kurdish identity has been under constant change in the 20th century. These memories reflect some of these changes, both the world of tradition and the changes and innovations.
