Abstract


 This research which titled (The role of social networks in ( fostering) the value of citizenship in Kurdish society - Sulaimani), obviously, social networks dominate the lives of individuals, relating it to the important issue such as citizenship. The researchers aim to understand the role of social networks in ( fostering) the value of citizenship, therefore, the objectives of this study are: to understand the role of social networks in (fostering)the value of citizenship among individuals; Demonstrating the role of social networks in (fostering)the value of citizenship by relating it to the demographic information and the main themes of citizenship. This research is important for individuals, because they are the users of social networks, and also important as a scientific research, because as a scientific research will be useful for those who want to get a scientific research on this important issue. This research used descriptive and survey method. The research sample includes: ;(200)  citizens of Sulaimani. The questionnaire forms were used to collect data from the research sample. After the fieldwork, the results are: Citizens are using the social network for 3 to 4 hours. Facebook remains a dominant social media platform, for the purpose of keeping up to date with events, information and entertainment, Males use social networks more, According to the gender variable females have a higher citizenship value. by peoples. Research indicates social networks significantly influence citizen values and behaviors of citizens.
