Abstract


The current research, titled "The Experience of School Social Work in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq: Challenges and Starting Points," examines the experience of school social work in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This experience is relatively recent in its implementation within the schools of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. As is well known, any service or professional experience faces numerous challenges and difficulties. The current research focuses on the challenges facing social work in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, aiming to understand the nature of these challenges in order to develop solutions and approaches to improve the reality of school social work in the region and benefit from this experience. This research attempts to shed light on the nature of social work in general and school social work in particular, identifying the most significant challenges it faces. Furthermore, it outlines its applications, programs, and the policies of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq by attempting to answer the main question:

• What are the most prominent challenges facing the experience of school social work in the schools of the Kurdistan Region?

The research aims to highlight the most important challenges facing school social work in the schools of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This is achieved by identifying the educational policies and social service programs implemented in educational institutions in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, identifying the views of those working in social service programs in educational institutions and the most important obstacles that limit their effectiveness and prevent them from achieving their goals, as well as helping policymakers and decision-makers in the educational field to develop social and educational policies to achieve the desired educational goals, as a starting point for advancing the reality of school social service in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
