Effect of climate on carbon dioxide reduction for electricity generation in Sulaimani city
Air pollution in cities is one of the most important problems that cities suffer from. We can identify the source of pollution as pollutants emitted by the burning of fossil fuels in factories, transportation and electricity generators. In order to provide the necessary electricity in most of the cities and villages of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, resorted to neighborhood generators to meet the high demand for electricity and meet part of these demands. Our research area in this study is Sulaimani city, the center of Sulaimani province in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region. Our aim in this study is to show how electricity production affects the climate and the effect on increasing Co2 in the air of Sulaimani,In this study, we relied on analytical methods based on data sets including weather data of Sulaimani Meteorological Station and electricity consumption data in Sulaimani using a series of images to analyze the effect of solar energy in reducing Co2 emissions in the air of Sulaimani.To achieve the purpose of our research, we have divided the research into three parts, In the first topic is devoted to the identification of the study area , In the second topic is devoted to consumption and Co2 gas emissions in Sulaimani, The third topic is devoted to solar energy production in Sulaimani , the end of the study is devoted to the conclusions and recommendations.
At the end of the study, we concluded that there is a monthly difference in the amount of Co2 gas entering the atmosphere ,and the direction and speed of the wind have an impact on the change of the air in Sulaimani, we can also reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted in the air of Sulaimani through the use of solar energy.
