Abstract

This research offers an analytical reading through the perspective of the scholar Mulla Muhammad Al-Kuwaiy, regarding a series of errors and deviations committed by some Sufis, which were given a religious guise, even though they have no connection to religion in any way. These include the bond between the disciple and the sheikhs, the flawed understanding of the concept of the saints' miracles, blind adherence to the sheikhs and mere submission to them, and other innovations for which God has sent no authority. Consequently, other deviations arose whose severity is known only to God. Strangely, most Sufis believe that these deviations are acts of devotion loved by God and His Messenger, with clear and authentic evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah. Therefore, they cling to them and consider them acts of worship to God. However, we do not agree with them on this, due to the absence of evidence to support them, as well as their contradiction to both religion and natural instinct. What this venerable scholar has presented is just a drop of the abundance, and a small portion of the vast service he has offered to his people out of religious and natural conviction. Undoubtedly, whoever opens their heart and mind and abandons harmful fanaticism and blind imitation will inevitably be convinced of everything he expounds, due to the clear and evident proofs he demonstrates from both rational and transmitted sources, as he was well-versed in both.
